Kate is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in separation and divorce issues. She has a private practice in Santa Rosa, CA and also works for the past five years as a child therapist and clinical supervisor at the Child Parent Institute.
Kate’s back ground and training is in child psycotherapy. She is highly trained in treating childhood trauma and childhood adverse experiences such as separation and child abuse. Above all, Kate enjoys talking and listening to children. She has a special interest in high conflict cases and seeks out a creative problem solving with a kind but firm approach.
Kate has presented at the Sonoma County Bar Association Minor’s Counsel annual training and at the Mental Health Liaison Brown Bag trainings. She presented last year at the American Family Conciliatory Courts (AFCC) conference. Her other presentations in the community include topics such as: preventing child sexual abuse, positive parenting, and interviewing children.
Kate is passionate about helping each individual child succeed. Her belief is that children deserve to have a thriving relationship with both parents.
Kate incorporates parenting tips and support as an integral part of the counseling process. Success can not be defined by achievement but rather developing skills for a positive future.
